        Dear Mrs. Conner,

        Below is listed the information I copied about fifteen years ago 
        from stones in the cemetery on the Bristow farm in the Cowan 
        community of Clinton County.  These stones are now unreadable.  
        I do not know how many graves were originally in the cemetery 
        because when we moved to the farm in 1950, the stones were 
        dispersed over a large field and many had been plowed 
        underground.  My father gathered up those he could find.  Only 
        four were readable in the early sixties.

                    born:  October 24, 1855
                    died:  July 22, 1856

                    died: Aug. 9, 1864

                4.  Margaret P.
                    Daughter of T. and M. Cowan
                    born:  Feb. 16, 1839
                    died:  Mar. 17, 1841
