Rx # 2. Patient 3. Drug 4. Insurance 5. Doctor 6. Sig 7. Label 8. Other 9. Finish Rx# - In this field press [ENTER] for a new prescription or put in the prescription number for a refill. Type the prescription number and press [F2] instead of [ENTER] to rewrite the prescription or type the prescription number and press [F3] instead of [ENTER] to edit the last refill of the prescription. Press [F4] in this field to review previous new prescriptions filled or [F5] to review both new and refill prescriptions filled. Use [F6] to review prescriptions on which insurance has not paid. While viewing prescriptions with one of the above methods, typing in a prescription number will retrieve that prescription in edit mode. Voided prescriptions will appear on the screen in red. If you need to edit a refill of a prescription other than the last one type the prescription number and press [F7]. Type the prescription number and press [F8] to void the prescription or to unvoid it if it is already voided. Type the prescription number and press [F9] to transfer the prescription in from another pharmacy. Also in this field you can press [F10] to get a quote for a price for a drug for cash payment. This will move the cursor first to the drug ID field and then to the quantity field and then return to the top of the screen leaving the price quote visible on the screen. Patient - For a new customer type in the customer's last name and press [ENTER]. To access an old customer type the customer number or type the customer code (first three letters of last name followed by first two letters of first name) followed by [TAB]. (All five letters of customer code are not necessary. As few as three will suffice.) Once a customer is identified the [F2] key will bring up the customer data screen for review or edit. Use the [F3] key to review a customer's prescriptions or [F4] to review a customers fills and refills or [F5] to review, edit or add a customer's preauthorizations. When reviewing prescriptions type the prescription number to refill. When reviewing fills type the fill transaction number to delete that transaction. Use the [F9] key to use a word processor to open a file for extra comments about this customer. Drug - For a new drug type in the drug name and press [ENTER]. To access an existing drug type the drug number or type the first 3 to 5 letters of the drug name followed by [TAB]. Once a drug is identified the [F2] key will bring up the drug data screen for review or edit. Use the [F3] key to change to an alternate drug, if available. Use the [F4] key to review prescriptions using that drug. Use the [F8] key to count pills for that drug if available on a pill counter. Insurance - For a new company type in the company name and press [ENTER]. To access an existing company type the company number or type the first 3 to 5 letters of the company name followed by [TAB]. Once a company is identified the [F2] key will bring up the company data screen for review or edit. The [F7] key can be used to flip to an alternate insurance company. Each customer can have two insurance companies accessed in turn by pressing [F7]. Doctor - For a new doctor type in the doctor's name and press [ENTER]. To access an existing doctor record type the record number or type the first 3 to 5 letters of the doctor's name followed by [TAB]. Once a doctor is identified the [F2] key will bring up the doctor's data screen for review or edit. Sig - identify the sig here and edit if necessary. For a new sig type in the sig and press [ENTER]. to use an existing sig type the sig number or name or the first letters of the sig followed by tab to search for the sig. Once a sig is identified the [F2] key or the right arrow will allow editing of the sig. Remember, if this is a sig that has been used before, editing it will edit it for all prescriptions that have used it. To change the sig name type the new name followed by [F3]. Press [F4] to review prescriptions with this sig. Press [F5] to clear the sig for this prescription. Label - This shows the essential label information and provides an area to edit the sig. Qt. per day - units consumed by the patient per day. Qt. dispensed - quantity dispensed which is usually the same as the quantity per fill but need not be. Date - Change this date only if the date the prescription is filled is not today. Consult (Y/N)? - by default is "Y". Change to "N" if no patient consultation was provided. Payment - Put a "P" in here if the patient will pay. by default the system will bill to the patient's insurance company otherwise. Finish - Press [ESC] here to clear this prescription without storing it. Press D if necessary to set a DAW code or use the right arrow to advance to the DAW field. Parameters for this prescription will appear to the right of the field and may include: L1 - to print a label. Press "1" to force a label print or "L" to clear the parameter and print no label. L2 - to print a label on a second printer. Press "2" to force a label print or "L" to clear the parameter and print no label. M - to print multiple labels. User will be prompted for number. T or S - to send a claim electronically. "T" automatically sends the claim. "S" brings up a claim edit screen before sending the claim. Either can be cleared by using the "T" or "S" key again as a toggle. B - to count the pills using the pill counter. Use the "B" key to toggle. H - to signify Home delivery of the prescription. Use the "H" key to toggle. When all information is complete use one of the three keys below to store the information and start the next prescription: [HOME] will store the data and invoke the job controller to complete any jobs pending. [F10] will store the data without invoking the job controller. [F8] is used if the prescription has been edited will cause all jobs indicated by parameters to be completed without storing the prescription data. This should be used if the prescription data has not been changed but it is desired merely to reprint the label or to resend the claim.
